I had the funniest lady sit next to me on the plane back to the Netherlands. She constantly searched for lost items in her purse and bag. She also spit the remains of her egg sandwich on me as she told me Irish murder stories. Sam and I took it pretty easy tonight since we were tired from our Ireland travels.

Sam and I took the bus to Limerick and then back to Dublin. On our way, we saw our second rainbow! We chatted in a park in the city, shopped, and went to an Irish pub. What a great trip! We left the next morning and I know I miss it already!

Sarah and I took a bus across the country to the west coast of Ireland. On our way, we met so many great people. Our bus driver went out of his way to be of help to us. We spent the day in Galway and had a great time. We sat next to a canal and enjoyed the view as we waited for the next bus. Mountains lined the horizon and the air smelled so fresh!
We arrived in Doolin and walked over a three hundred year old bridge to get to our cottage-like hostel! We loved it so much, we booked three nights here! We went to Irish pubs every night, hiked three and a half hours up the Cliffs of Moher, met lots of great people (Martin and Michael were my favorite), visited Inis Oirr (first island off the west coast of Ireland), and took a boat to the base of the cliffs. What a beautiful countryside. Horses, cattle, and sheep were everywhere and the stone piles made for excellent fences. I think I want to live in Doolin!

Sam and I took the tram to South Station. We then took a train to Eindhoven and waited for quite a while in the airport before hopping on the Ireland-bound airplane! I have always wanted to go to Ireland and now I finally got to fulfill this dream! We took a bus into Dublin and walked around the city in search of a hostel. The buildings look a bit different in Ireland than they do in the Netherlands. I love everything about this country, especially the Irish accents! As Sam and I searched for a hostel, we had a guy as us, “Why are you two so happy?” We replied, “Because we are finally in Ireland!” We ate dinner in an Irish pub, and listened to live Irish music! We met Enya, and two Russian students. We went out for coffee and tea.

Anne Frank's house

5-4-11
I went to Anne Frank’s house once again. Samantha wanted to see it, so I brought her. We noticed that the Frank family penciled in their growth chart on the wall while living in the house. It is so crazy they had to live there for so long and in such a dark, small place.
Sam and I made our way over to Dam Square. We asked people around us why it was so crowded and full of guards and fences. We were informed that the Queen of the Netherlands was coming to give a speech at 8pm for Liberation Day.
